Fears Increase Over Increasing Number of STD Infections

Health Department Authorities are disturbed over the latest reports that suggest an advance in the volume of STD infections currently being reported. While the increase may not appear to be worrying to some, any escalation in the number of reported instances can be associated with an increase in unreported infections.

Although a leading issue was once a lack of easily available HIV testing, that is no longer the case with the escalating number of ways that men and women can get std testing in Chesapeake. Both the county and local health departments have attempted to make inexpensive testing available to people of all income levels, and private testing companies have also been a good source for confidential STD testing services.

“There seems to be a preconception that if you aren’t demonstrating any signs, then you are not infected.” stated one area official. “However, any physician will tell you that most STDs display little to no symptoms, while the threat of spreading is just the same.” The only way to decelerate this accelerated growth is for all at risk people to access regular STD testing for all major infections.

If you think you might be at risk, or simply do not know, the preferred step is to call your local health department or search online for “STD testing services” in order to locate a local medical laboratory that can assess your level of risk.
